Established:     In loving memory of Rylee Cheyenne Miller, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident on January 14, 2013.  She was a junior in college at North Western Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK.  Rylee was majoring in Ag-Business and was also a member of the NWOSU Rodeo team where she competed in barrel racing.  This scholarship was funded by donations in memory of Rylee at the time of her passing and additional fund raising events.

Purpose:    To provide financial support to a Saline or Ellsworth County graduate who shares common qualities and aspirations that made Rylee the person she was.  

Rylee was a beautiful young woman who was raised on a ranch, loved animals, rodeo, and the outdoors.  She was active in her school both academically and athletically.  She was very self-driven, and was fully devoted to become a college graduate and a successful, productive member of society.  Rylee gave meaning to the phrase, “Grab life by the horns”, by her persistence to better herself and all those she shadowed.  This scholarship will e awarded to an individual who represents the Rylee Miller spirit.

Eligibility:  Applicant must:

  • Be graduating in 2019-2020 academic year from Saline or Ellsworth County.

  • Plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university.

  • Participated in at least one extra-curricular school activity.

  • Maintained at least a 3.0 GPA during junior and senior year of high school.

  • Have agricultural background or upbringing.

  • Be regarded as an upstanding young person in the eyes of his or her community and high school.

Amount:    One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded for the 2019-2020 academic year. $1,000 will be provided before each semester.  Applicant must obtain at least a 2.5 GPA during first semester to receive second cash payment. Recipient must mail transcript after first semester for the second cash payment.

  • Include references from a teachers and a coach with contact information.
